University of Colorado at Colorado Springs
I was part of the small team responsible for creating the main page (www.uccs.edu) as well as the main sub-pages (Current Students, Future Students, Faculty and Staff, and Alumni.) Although this was a major revamp of the code, the redesign was meant to be only a minor upgrade from the previous version. One of the challenges was to make the site look and feel more contemporary, using cleaner and more efficient code, while remaining relatively similar to the previous design, as well as increasing adherence to web and accessibility standards.
UCCS wCMS Template
I was also responsible for creating the UCCS Web Content Management System "master template" which is used for any site brought into the wCMS, as well as many other pages. It is the basic look and feel of the most current UCCS websites and pages. Examples include: the Chancellor's site, About UCCS, Campus Map, Course Information, Campus Directory, Admissions and Records, the Student Success Center, the UCCS Event Calendar, Excel Centers, and many more.
Athletics
I designed the layout for the UCCS Athletics Department, and handed it off to their in-house web developer to maintain. One challenge was to present a large amount of information on a relatively small amount of screen-space. We collapsed several pages of schedules and results into 2 tabbed sections, all accessible from the front page without reloading.

Departments
These sites were done before the UCCS Web Content Management System (wCMS) was in place. These sites were designed to reflect the goals of each department while also relating to the (then current) design of the UCCS home page. Each site was then handed off to someone in the department, so clean code that is easy to work with (and plays well with Dreamweaver) was a necessity. There was also a focus on web-standard-compliance, and 508 accessibility guidelines. Examples include:
